I've learned about the UFZ during a seminar at the geography department with UFZ researchers about ecosystem services. Then I got remembered by the job offer for my PhD position, which in terms of the research focus, time schedule and place really was appealing.

I came to the UFZ because of the perfectly fitting PhD position on socio-spatial impacts on children's health, on which I already focused in my previous work at HU Berlin and the interdisciplinary environmental research and because it's located in the city of Leipzig.

I like the the various green areas, lakes, the bike friendliness, cultural events, attractive and (still) affordable housing and my friends and family, who lives nearby.

I'm fascinated by the diversity of disciplines and their interrelations doing environmental research. I like the opportunity to take part in very diverse courses and to get supported within the PhD process.
