The effects of surrounding landscapes on the biocontrol-production function in rice dominated agroecosystems

At UFZ since

July 2012

How did you learn about the UFZ?

Via the EcoDiff service provided by the French Ecological Society

Why did you come to the UFZ?

The topic of my PhD was really appealing and I was really interested to extend my knowledge in landscape ecology and to continue conducting tropical research. Being in an interdisciplinary and high quality group was also really tempting.

What do you like about the city you live in?

Leipzig is a lovely city. It’s not a big city like Berlin but big enough to offer a lot of cultural opportunities (famous for music and art) and evening activities. I also really like the “green belt” that goes across the city resulting in a lot of parks and lakes. People are also friendly and open-minded.

How do you like it at the UFZ / in HIGRADE?

The working environment in UFZ is really stimulating. Working in a high quality institution is challenging but a friendly environment makes it easier for everyone. HIGRADE also provides good help by offering high quality programmes.
