I am investigating the biogeochemical effects of temperature on microbial populations in aquifers and its contaminant-degrading capabilities.
February 2018
I came across UFZ during an internet search whilst looking for PhD opportunities.
Their research on aquifer biogeochemistry interests me having done research related to stable isotope probing during my Masters, so I was immediately attracted to it, applied for it and here I am.
Leipzig is unique in its own way, size-wise it is a city that isn´t too big yet isn´t too small. With a mix of architecture and a colourful history, it certainly offers a plethora of activities catering to different needs of its residents.
UFZ has a seemingly good support structure for its students and staff, and allows everyone from various levels to interact with one another, regardless of race, language, religion or political beliefs.
I try to hit the gym a few times a week. Other than that, I am still an avid player of the Pokemon Go.
