February 2017

How did you learn about the UFZ?

I learned about it through an online research about sustainable employers.

Why did you come to the UFZ?

First of all, the topic of the PhD caught my interest. Especially, because of the interdisciplinary aspects which allow a research at the frontiers of environmental economics. As this philosophy is generally esteemed by the UFZ, I was really motivated to start my PhD at the UFZ. Also the (now) colleagues I met during the application/selection process were really welcoming and pleasant. Lastly, the structure of the PhD project and the support by the ESCALATE Research school and the HIGRADE graduate school were a great advantage in my opinion.

What do you like about the city you live in?

Leipzig seems like a quite liveable, young and dynamic city with lots of events offered and many spots to explore.

In my free time I enjoy outdoor activities like sports and hiking. I'm also into photography and in case of bad weather I favour a good read and cooking.
