How did you learn about the UFZ?

I got in contact with my supervisor (Prof. Schüürmann) via email, which was really nice, and learned that he works at the UFZ.

Why did you come to the UFZ?

First of all to make my PhD, second, to meet new people and third the UFZ has a good reputation

What do you like about the city you live in?

Leipzig is splendid. It has so many facets and faces, beginning with old impressive buildings up to decaying ruins and really lovely free spaces. It has not only a diverse architecture, but also a diverse culture, which is intriguing.

How do you like it at the UFZ / in HIGRADE?

The UFZ is a nice place with interesting historical roots. In addition, I am happy to work at a place, which aims to protect the environment and does meaningful science. Last, I have very nice colleagues. HIGRADE offers great opportunities to increase the knowledge in my field of research, extent it to new fields and gives me the flexibility to take courses outside the UFZ. It’s great.

Not yet, but will come.

If there is time left, I am fond of playing board games, watching films (and debate about them), reading lots of books and go swimming (preferable in lakes).
