I learned about the UFZ through some Nigerian doctoral researchers who were carrying out their research at the Centre. While I was searching for a reputable research institution to conduct my research, they shared their positive experience at UFZ, which piqued my interest in the center and its work."

Upon further research about UFZ, I discovered that it is one of the best environmental research centers in the world, thanks to its outstanding capacity and state-of-the-art equipment, making it an ideal place for my PhD research.

Leipzig is a city rich in cultural heritage, known for its musical history with composers like Bach and its role in the 1989 peaceful protests. The city offers beautiful green spaces, such as Clara Zetkin Park, and is recognized for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. With affordable living costs, a vibrant arts scene, and a growing international community, Leipzig attracts students and young professionals. Its well-developed public transport system and proximity to nature make it an ideal place for both urban and outdoor activities, making Leipzig a dynamic and enjoyable place to live and explore.

I really enjoy my experience at the UFZ/HIGRADE because the graduate school offers a diverse range of technical, thematic, and soft skill courses that not only support my research but also contribute to my long-term career development beyond my time at UFZ/HIGRADE. I also appreciate the opportunity to set up a supervision committee, which enhances my academic guidance. Additionally, UFZ provides frequent participation in the department's weekly seminar series and regular individual project meetings, which significantly facilitate my research progress and help me stay on track with my work.

I am a skilled Chemist, Quality Control Analyst, and Environmental Specialist with expertise in field sampling and analysis of chemical mixtures, water, soil, and gaseous emissions. I hold a Master’s in Environmental Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management. I have experience in implementing ISO standards such as ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and ISO 9001:2015. My career spans roles at International Energy Services, Jawura Environmental Services, Richflood International, Ebic Integrated Services, and Amotoi Global Services. Currently pursuing a PhD in Ecotoxicology at the Helmholtz Centre, I am dedicated to climate change action and environmental sustainability globally.
