At UFZ since

October 2023

How did you learn about the UFZ?

I didn't specifically spot UFZ but I was keen on joining one of the reputed institutes like Fraunhofer, Helmholtz, Max Planck etc. Applying for positions in and around my subject area, I found UFZ offering a degree under my specialization. My decision to join UFZ has been worthwhile.

Why did you come to the UFZ?

I have my idea which is based on subject areas like Environmental Science, Automotive and Sensors. I have obtained working experience in two of these fields, Environmental Science was the only subject area that was missing. Getting an opportunity to work in this field and obtaining a doctoral degree was like the icing on the cake and hence I picked UFZ.

What do you like about the city you live in?

I live in Halle and it is a small city, with not too expensive housing, everything within walking distance, a river and with the option of going to Leipzig in less than 30 minutes with the S Bahn. Also, the team that I am engaged with is supportive.

Personal information ("what else to do", etc.)

I love to be social, so I enjoy hosting activities where people can bond and network with each other. Pretty much the reason why I am part of the Do-It community. Apart from this, I also enjoy doing volunteer work for a company called Bewelcome. This is only due to my passion for travelling and to help fellow travellers.
