Work package 5: Farmers' behaviour

In WP5, the behaviour of farmers will be investigated empirically and, in cooperation with WP6, a module for the agent-based model developed there will be designed to represent farmers' decisions. In order to be able to model these decisions, empirical data (questionnaire or interview-based) must be collected. This data should provide information on the degree of farmers' willingness to engage in multifunctional farming and the limits of their scope for action to realise this willingness. A typology of farms will be determined from the empirical data. This means that the farms are categorised according to various criteria that play an important role in the course of structural change in agriculture (e.g. farm size).
