An educational online learning game on the sustainable development of land use
In this game, players slip into the role of a politician and by using various political instruments they decide what happens with the entrusted land. The aim of the game is to invest capital in a way that economic, social and ecological prosperity is possible at the same time. The game explains and illustrates various options and feedbacks of sustainable land management. It is suitable for education in secondary schools and universities (age 16 and older), interdisciplinary environmental planning, or stakeholder meetings.
Wissenschaft macht Schule - Touring exhibition on microplastics - for schools
The exhibition was developed as part of the MikroPlaTaS project (Microplastics in Dams and Reservoirs), which is coordinated by the UFZ. In addition to presenting basic information on the use, distribution routes and effects of plastics, the exhibition also presents the research team's own project results.
Schools and those engaged in environmental education can borrow the exhibition for free. A handbook for teachers has been developed with suggestions and explanations on how to incorporate the information in school classes.

Future habitats of animals and plants - scencerios on the impact of climate change
Statements up to the year 2100 are made on the basis of future scenarios. These scenarios describe "possible future worlds" in their political, economic, social and ecological dimensions. The teaching materials were developed jointly by scientists, teachers, environmental educators and university didacticians.
The software addresses students aged 12 to 19.
First you open a German page. Then you can switch to the English version.
SImulation of NAture for Schools - biodiversity education with simulation models
Use of modern information technologies in environmental education - for understanding and protecting biodiversity. Supported by the DBU (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt - German Federal Environmental Foundation).
SImulation von SchmeTterlingen und SzenArien für Schulen - Simulation of butterflies and scenarios for schools
SITAS explains methods that are used in scientific risk analyses.
The focus is on the impact that climate change has on habitats of European animals and plants. In this example, this is shown with butterflies. Various plausible developments and the effects they will have are described and compared in future scenarios.
Water fun – hands, minds and hearts on Water for Life!
Early environmental education is a fundamental component in achieving the required goal of sustainable water management. The Water Fun - hands, minds and hearts on Water for Life! teaching programme addresses this topic for primary school teachers and students.
The programme supports Human Resource Development (HRD), which is one of the interdisciplinary elements in achieving economic and social development that can be used in all primary schools in order to reach all young people regardless of their socio-economic situation and to strengthen their willingness to act in a way that helps to conserve water.
