University Doctoral Degree Regulations (Promotionsordnungen)
In Germany, non-university research institutions such as the UFZ cannot award academic degrees. Therefore, doctoral researchers have to be matriculated at a university alongside their affiliation with the UFZ. This is not done automatically! Doctoral researchers have to contact the university and faculty to enroll and make sure they have the most recent version of the Doctoral Degree Regulations (Promotionsordnungen), defining the requirements for obtaining a doctoral degree from this university and faculty.
