"Fate of sulfonamide resistant bacteria in constructed wetlands"

At UFZ since

October 2015

How did you learn about the UFZ?

After studyng biotechnology in my home country, I was willing to do my PhD in Germany and I googled "Umweltbiotechnologie". I found a paper about it and I wrote the author (Prof. Stottmeister), who was a researcher at the UFZ. He helped me to contact people here in order to write my project and to apply for scholarship.

Why did you come to the UFZ?

Because here I can combine my work with my ideals. That means to do research for the environment; for us and for the ones to come.

What do you like about the city you live in?

I like the diversity of people, I like the lakes and the forests, I like the fact that you can get everywhere by bike and the distances are not too big, so you can always meet your friends.

How do you like it at the UFZ / in HIGRADE?

I really like it here, I feel very comfortable.

Personal information ("what else to do", etc.)

I am worried about the big problems of humanity like hunger and destroying the environment. I am always trying to do something about it and to be coherent with what I think, but is not always easy and the hope for a better world fluctuates in me a lot.

Aerial acrobatics, playing the guitar and singing, reading, hugging trees and sometimes also people.
