How did you learn about UFZ?
Via scientific publications
Why did you come to the UFZ?
I wanted to broaden my knowledge in the field of ecotoxicology. The scholarship of the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) gave me the possibility to have a yearlong practical training at the Department of Bioanalytical Ecotoxicology. Owing to the very fruitful year, I decided to apply for a doctoral scholarship to continue the research at the UFZ.
What do you like about the city you live in?
Leipzig has got the advantages that a small town and a big city have. You can cross the city even by bike but also utilize its infrastructure. My favourite are the lakes and the river around the city that offer a nice atmosphere to do sport every time in the year.
How do you like it at the UFZ / in HIGRADE?
The UFZ is a very professional institution with ideal infrastructure and scientific team. I was continuously applying for contract extension to stay here more; I think it is a good proof. HIGRADE is not only an excellent organisation to broaden the scientific horizons of PhD students, but also offers a nice background for social activities among the students.
