Project objectives and methods - how can transformative change be pushed and facilitated?

Handschlag The aim of the project is to develop the design of transformative change for the protection of global commons such as biodiversity and globally regulated ecosystems such as forests and the ocean, as multiple global assessments demand.

At first, UFZ summarises the status of scientific knowledge on the basis of specific assessments and reports (IPBES, FAO, UN, Global Risk Report 2020, Dasgupta et al. 2020, among others), looks for divergences and sums up recommendations and possible solutions. These recommendations are then illustrated by examples from former projects using guideline-supported expert interviews as a basis for the discussion and further development within expert workshops. As a final outcome, recommendations for international cooperation and development cooperation are presented.

The target group of the report is the scientific community and development cooperation, as well as interested members of the general public.
