Sustainability, science, and imagination—these themes come together in the new children’s book Fanny, Flo, and the Shrinking Adventure in an entertaining way. Through an exciting, magic-realistic story about microorganisms and biotechnology, the book introduces children aged 4 and up to innovative and eco-friendly technologies.
In the story, children Fanny and Flo discover a sparkling marble during a picnic, leading them into a delightful adventure. They meet Millie, a tiny, microbe-like magical creature who takes them into a world of “tiny beings” and to a “party house”—which is actually a bioreactor! Along their journey, they learn how microorganisms can produce energy and create valuable, sustainable products.
The child-friendly storytelling makes complex topics such as biotechnology, sustainability, and the circular economy accessible, sparking curiosity and encouraging further exploration.
