For passive sampling using PDMS to estimate the bioavailability of sediment-associated chemicals, what assumptions do we need to make to convert the measured effects in PDMS to effects in sediments?

Can we easily derive the baseline toxicity and effect-based trigger values for sediment and suspended particulate matter (SPM) samples from those for water in river? If yes, how and what are the assumptions?
