Motivation
As societal concerns about the long-term sustainability of groundwater supplies mount, there is a pressing need to improve our understanding of the subsurface and to better monitor and characterize naturally and anthropogenicaly influenced systems. The environmental research community is facing an increasing demand for investigation methods that have high accuracy and resolution across a range of spatial and temporal scales. A new generation of methods for subsurface characterization is required if we are to significantly improve the predictive capabilities of numerical models. Showcasing such methods is the purpose of this conference.
