Center for Advanced Water Research (CAWR) and Emerging Field

The CAWR was founded in 2013 as a cooperation between UFZ and TU Dresden in the field of water research.

Currently, the joint activities and projects of UFZ and TUD in the environmental field, especially in the field of "climate change and water extremes", are bundled under the umbrella of the Emerging Field Water Research. The Emerging Field is a measure of TU Dresden in the current funding programme of the Excellence Strategy in the 2nd funding line Universities of Excellence. UFZ is an official partner of TUD in the Emerging Field; the joint appointment of Jakob Zscheischler to the chair for Data Analytics in Hydro Sciences was realised as part of the Emerging Field.
