About the European Forum on Urban Forestry (EFUF)
EFUF is an annual event, providing a meeting place for practitioners, scientists and educators involved with the planning and management of urban forests (from woodland to urban parks and street trees). The Forum is associated with the International Union of Forest Research Organisations’ (IUFRO) urban forestry group, as well as with several European and Nordic networks for urban forestry. Participants come from across Europe, as well as from other parts of the world. Every year, the EFUF takes up an actual theme within urban forestry, such as financing, public involvement, partnerships, and management innovations. Germany was host of the first edition of the EFUF in Wuppertal in 1998 and of the 11th edition in 2007 in Gelsenkirchen. The 2012 edition will be the 15th EFUF conference and it will be the first time that the Forum is in the former East German part.
