Content:
The values used to build graphs are provided in an Excel file called "Data.xlsx". There are three tabs for "CT-data", "WinRHIZO-analysis" and "shoot" with the respective values.
The CT data is provided in a folder that contains two zipped subfolders ('raw' and 'seg'). The 'raw' folder contains one dataset (both scans for one sample; FS_C_t7) for demonstration purposes. Other individual grayscale images are of course available from the authors upon request.
The 'seg' folder contains the segmented, filtered and binarized data for root systems in individual subfolders for all datasets per sampling point when both treatments were scanned (t1 = 4 DAP, t3 = 8 DAP, t5 = 12 DAP and t7 = 16 DAP).

File format:
Data.xlsx is standard Excel format, built with MS Office 2010.
The raw CT data is given as a .raw and the related .vgi file with metadata like image dimensions. The .vgi is a proprietary format but can be opened with text editors and also ImageJ/Fiji.
The segmented CT data is given as compressed .mha files. Raw and segmented files can be viewed e.g. with ImageJ/Fiji.

File name convention:
The files are stored according to the following convention:
SRGA_doseVF_<treatment>_<replicate>_<sampling point>_seg.mha
treatment: FS, MS, C
replicate: A, B, C, D, E
sampling point: t1, t3, t5, t7; or only t7 for treatment C

Image content in the segmented files:
Binarized 8-bit data with only two classes:
0 - no root
255 - root

Image content in the raw files:
16-bit unsigned greyscale data with dimensions 1750*1750*2000 with little-endian byte order after full range reconstruction.
