What we do.

TESSIN Projects

INFLUINS

(Integrierte Fluiddynamik in Sedimentbecken) is a new joint research project with the Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena in the framework of the program "Innovation und Spitzenforschung in den Neuen Bundesländern". Specifically, INFLUINS is dealing with the fluid dynamics of the Thüringer Becken.

INFLUINS

As a first step Thomas Fischer is developing a geometric model for the Thüringer Becken. In order to import the geometric entities into OpenGeoSys, interfaces to Petrell and Gocad have to be implemented.

To be able to process large data sets the implementation of geometric entities in OpenGeoSys must be improved. This development is taking place in the new OGS-5 which uses the system independent GUI framework Qt. Furthermore we incorporate graphic libraries such as OpenSG to be able to visualize datasets both in the Visualization Center and on standard user-displays. For modeling the associated THMC processes we incorporate the high performance computing services of the UFZ.
