The TenureTrack Phase covers 5 years including a midterm evaluation at the end of the 2nd year and a final evaluation at the beginning of the 5th year.

The evaluation of the development, performance, and potential regarding the target agreement and evaluation criteria takes place at the end of the second year. It aims to provide feedback and orientation concerning goal achievement, as well as to adapt and adjust the respective conditions and activities to optimally support the development. The midterm evaluation also serves as a reflexion moment to discuss career options and potential.
The evaluation process covers a presentation of the performance and prospects to the UFZ public, a written self-assessment, and both a scientific presentation and a career talk with the commission. The expected degree of fulfilment of the evaluation criteria considers individual as well as organisational conditions.

In cases of exceptional performance it is possible to shorten the TenureTrack phase and prepone the final evaluation.
