Research projects

2008-2013 (PhD):

The range and abundance increase of European anchovy in the North Sea, with a focus on trophic interactions and climate impacts. Methods used included diet analysis, multidisciplinary approaches, spatio-temporal generalised additive modelling, dynamic energy budget and population dynamic modelling. With Dr. M. Dickey-Collas, Dr. L.A.J. Nagelkerke and Prof. A.D. Rijnsdorp

2006-2007:

Biodiversity of Arctic charr in Icelandic lakes from an evolutionary ecology perspective. Using multivariate data analysis, I investigated possible causes of polymorphisms and began to model fisheries effects on these. With Dr. S. Skúlason

2004-2005 (MRes):

-Predicting marine species' responses to protection in temperate areas based on species’ abundance/density changes, life history and fishery information (Prof. C.M. Roberts)
- A functional group approach to benthic biodiversity surrounding oil platforms in the North Sea (Prof. D. Raffaelli)
- Trophic ecology of jellyfish in Washington State, USA, based on field data and feeding experiments (Dr. J.E. Purcell)

2004 (BSc): Larval settlement responses of a Bryozoan by natural or artificial cues (Prof. C.D. Todd)
