Topic of Thesis: "Toxicity of engineered nanoparticles towards vertebrate cells in vitro"

Wibke Busch, a former PhD student of the Department Bioanalytical Ecotoxicology and HIGRADE alumni, awarded for her thesis entitled ‘Toxicity of engineered nanoparticles towards vertebrate cells in vitro’ the SETAG GLB Best Promotion Prize 2011 (Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry - Europe German Language Branch e.V). The prize recognises successfully completed PhD students who have made outstanding contributions to the field of chemic substances in the environment and comes with prize money of 3,000 Euro. Wibke Busch investigated in her dissertation the interaction of technical nanoparticles used in industrial tools with cells, and the potential impact on human health and the environment.
