Curriculum Vitae

Andreas Mattern studied chemistry in Leipzig and Cardiff, followed by his PhD at the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Leipzig. In his doctoral thesis he focused on inflammatory cell migration induced by activated cytokines. The labeling of adipokines was another part of his PhD studies.

In 2017 he joined the Department of Scientific Administrative Project Supervision of the UFZ to support national third-party funding. His tasks involved the search of UFZ specific calls, support of proposals for national funding as well as consulting (e.g. for scholarships or research specific calls)
Since February 2019 he joined the Department of Bioanalytical Ecotoxicology as a postdoctoral researcher responsible for the (nano)science communication project DaNa2.0 . His tasks focus on the environmental aspects related to nanotechnology and involve the evaluation of recently published results in the nanomaterial field. This information is summarized in easy-to-understand review articles which are published on the nanoobjects webpage. Furthermore continuous expansion and improvement of the knowledgebase of the DaNa2.0-homepage is part of his work.

Current Projects
