Oliver Weisner

My research interests focus on ecosystem integrity and ecotoxicological risks. As part of my studies of "Ecotoxicology" at the University of Koblenz-Landau, I investigated the effects of land use in the river basin on measured insecticide concentrations in the USA.

As a PhD student in small water body monitoring, I have been involved in the planning and organisation of the project, the measurement campaigns and the subsequent analyses and evaluations since 2018.
My focus as an ecotoxicologist is on the risk assessment of pesticides - to what extent are predicted environmental concentrations in streams exceeded and what does this depend on?
Do existing thresholds for pesticides ensure that no unacceptable ecological effects occur? Do the assumptions made in the risk assessment correspond to the reality observed in the field?
