Working Group: Functional Plant Community Ecology
The research of our group covers different areas of plant ecology, ranging from the study of individuals and populations of particular model species to the level of plant communities and processes at the ecosystem level. Our main goal is to understand how human-mediated changes in the environment affect the biological mechanisms controlling the assembly of plant communities and ecological processes. We mainly work in agricultural grassland ecosystems with a major focus on the effects of climate and land-use change and biodiversity experiments, but we also perform common garden experiments and use observational studies.
