Abstract | Three procedures for the determination of the hydrophobicity of microorganisms and/or their tendency to physically interact with hydrocarbon phases are presented. These include the bacterial/microbial adhesion to hydrocarbon (BATH/MATH) test, hydrophobic interaction chromatography and contact angle measurements of filter-retained microbial cell layers. |
