Research
I am part of the project "Use and management of finest particulate anthropogenic material flows in a sustainable circular economy – FINEST" (2022-2027) funded by the Helmholtz Association (Helmholtz Sustainability Challenge). FINEST
My research is also embedded in the research project NO-STRESS, which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF). Together with the Helmholtz Centre Jülich and the University of Düsseldorf we want to provide robust bacterial cell factories with high tolerance to key chemical stressors. Such cell factories can be used for the biotechnological production of fine chemicals used as pharmaceuticals or chemical building blocks. NO-STRESS
I was part of the EU-Project P4SB (From Plastic waste to Plastic value using Pseudomonas putida Synthetic Biology; P4SB; 2015-2019) which aimed to transform conventional plastics gained from fossil fuels into bioplastics; employing Pseudomonas putida for the degradation of oligomeric resins.
