What is it about?
As a postdocs you have the opportunity to intern in a private or public sector organization in Germany for up to 3 months. You can choose any 3-months-period between 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
Who can participate?
All scientists from the UFZ who hold a PhD and have a limited employment contract pursuant to Section 2 (1) Academic Fixed-Term Contract Act (WissZeitVG)

How can I find a suitable company?
You are welcome to look for a suitable company that suits your interests and professional experience. In addition, the Career Center is happy to support you in your search and provides you with contacts. The Career Center is also available as a contact point for questions or difficulties during the program. Please note that the Win:Winship cannot take place at a university or other research institution.
How many places are available?
The UFZ covers the costs for up to five participants. There are three places left.How much does it cost?
If you get a Win:Winship, the UFZ will provide you with your normal salary for the duration of the program as well as travel and accommodation expenses up to 3000 €, if necessary.
How can I apply?
Please be sure to discuss your application with your PI/department leader and clarify which period of time is convenient for both of you. The Career Centre will be happy to advise you in advance!
You can only participate if you are employed for a limited period of time according to Sec. 2 (1) WissZVG. Please check in advance whether this requirement applies to you.

What happens to my (expiring) contract?
The contract will not be interrupted, but extended for the duration of the hospitation (max. 3 months).Will I still receive my regular salary during the program?

In general, full-time employment is intended; in the case of special family or project-related requirements, part-time implementation is also possible.Are three months fixed for the programme or can it be for a shorter/longer period?
Funding is available for work stays of up to 3 months, which can also be shortened. Unfortunately, it is not possible to extend the measure.Can I choose for myself which company I want to visit?
Yes, that is possible.Do I have to get my application approved by my manager in advance?
