TERENO - Observatory and Experimental Platforms of the UFZ
Observation and experimentation are key elements for a scientific assessment of global change. TERENO - Terrestrial Environmental Observatories - is an initiative of the Helmholtz Association focussing on long-term observation and experimentation. It is supported by several Helmholtz centers:
- Forschungszentrum Jülich - FZJ
- Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ
- Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - KIT
- Helmholtz Zentrum München - German Center for Environmental Health - HMGU
- German Aerospace Center - DLR
- German Research Centre for Geosciences - GFZ
The UFZ operates and provides several advanced infrastructures for long-term environmental research and focuses on aspects of biodiversity too. The following pages provide detailed information regarding the Harz / Central German Lowland Observatory and experimental platforms of the UFZ.
Note that the official website about all TERENO activities and observatories is ![]()
