Currently the ARSOlux project is in six countries worldwide actively involved to implement the ARSOlux biosensor for reliable drinking water testing regarding its arsenic content.

Due to a lack of drinking water infrastructure in the most affected regions worldwide, millions of privately installed hand tube wells have to be tested regarding their arsenic contamination. Therefore, a simple and economic detection method for arsenic has to be brought to market. Further the technologies have to be adapted to the natural and cultural habits of the affected population. Only the consideration and adaptation of the technology can lead to a successful arsenic mitigation. ARSOlux as decentral technology, which can be implemented directly in the field, is therefore evaluated as reasonable solution.
