The Risk Habitat Megacity research initiative reflects the joint work of about fifty natural and social scientists and engineers from five research centres of the German Helmholtz Association - the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe (FZK), the Helmholtz Centre Potsdam (GFZ) German Research Centre for Geosciences, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) and the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ, and five partner organizations in Latin America - Universidad de Chile (UCH), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC), Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV), Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC/CEPAL) in the United Nations and the Universidad Alberto Hurtado (UAH).
