If suitable, we support the application process and successful candidates can join the graduate programmes of yDiv und HIGRADE.

M.Sc. thesis opportunities

A collection of current M. Sc. thesis topics will be uploaded here soon.

Current topics of interest:

  • What are the dynamics of biodiversity and ecosystem services in coupled social-ecological systems? How to improve the science for assessments of biodiversity and ecosystem services, including modelling of flows of ecosystem services, interlinkages of beneficiaries and providers across space and ecosystem service risks?
  • How to engage multiple stakeholders in monitoring biodiversity and ecosystem services, evaluating policies and improving governance? How can we include aspects of citizen science and participatory GIS for mapping and assessing, e.g. provisioning, regulating and cultural services in urban areas or protected areas? What is the role of social networks in successful ecosystem management and policy development?
  • How to effectively conserve, manage and restore biodiversity and ecosystem services?

If you are interested in joining the lab, please contact Aletta Bonn (Email) directly and provide a short statement of your research interests and a CV with your latest certificates.
