CV / Scientific Career

since April 2013

PhD student at UFZ (Community Ecology Department, Macroecology group) in the BiodivERsa project EC21C - European Conservation for the 21st Century
Supervisors: Dr. Ingolf Kühn, Dr. Oliver Schweiger

2011 - 2013

MSc degree in "Ecological Planning, Sustainable Development and Management of Protected Areas" at School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Master thesis “Assessing the effect of climate and land use changes on the connectivity of Natura 2000 European conservation network”

2006 - 2011

BSc degree in Biology (Environmental Biology) at School of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Bachelor thesis “Potential changes of plant species richness under different pressures: an example of Mediterranean-type ecosystems”

Research interests

In my PhD project I investigate the spatio-temporal response of pollinators to global change focusing on:
- the effect of landscape structure on community composition
- landscape permeability for species shifting their ranges
- the effect of scale combining large scale distributional data with landscape scale data
