Research Interests

  • empirical social-geographical fieldwork, mainly in Arabic, in various sites throughout the Middle East and North Africa
  • topics: rural social change, development, youth studies, mountain and steppe pastoralism
  • ongoing PhD project: understand societal transformations and drought in eastern Morocco with the analytical help of actor-network theory
