Tenth Roundtable
The tenth and thereby last Round Table meeting of the CAS project took place on November 27, 2012 at Gobierno Regional de la Región Metropolitana de Santiago. The main purpose of this Round Table meeting was to present the products of the project, specifically the Regional Climate Adaptation Plan, which is accompanied by a Manual for Implementation. Furthermore, a Manual for Professionals and an Information Material for Municipalities (La Florida and Pedro Aguirre Cerda) was presented and made available for the participants of the Round Table meetings and for further dissemination. Additionally, the Round Table meeting aimed in evaluating the participatory process, and to discuss the future of the process in the frame of GORE and SEREMI MA. This meeting therefore marked the official closure of the three-year CAS project in Santiago de Chile.
The meeting was topped off by an official political ceremony of handing over the Regional Climate Adaptation Plan to the Regional Secretary of the Ministry of the Environment, José Ignacio Pinochet, and Cristián Pertuzé, Regional Administrator who represented the Intendente (see article mma.cl, 2012). Both highly appreciated the Plan and impressed their high interest to continue the process and their willingness to implement the Plan and the 14 adaptation measures included. This was underpinned by the Regional Counsel, Osvaldo Aravena. Furthermore to the Plan, the Information Material for Municipalities was officially handed over to the representatives of the municipality Pedro Aguirre Cerda who participated in the event.
