Third Roundtable

rt

The 3rd round table meeting that took place on January 26, 2011 at Campus Beauchef of the Universidad de Chile was mainly made up of the same organizations that had participated in the second round table, with some new faces regarding specific representatives. Other organizations, such as SEREMI Medio Ambiente were represented for the first time. After summarizing the main results of the participatory activities of the last round table, a presentation of the main expected climate changes for the Metropolitan Region of Santiago was given. This included methodological issues as well as uncertainties that are related to these modeled results. In the participatory exercise that followed, local stakeholders presented the main climate change related activities (measures, programmes, etc.) that their organizations are currently involved in. In order to highlight the interlinkages, all activities were summarized in a matrix according to the four areas of interest to the project, related to: water, energy, land use and vulnerability.

The aim of the following round table meetings will be to further elaborate this matrix according to adaptation measures. Round table 4 is scheduled for the second half of May 2011.
