Isotope

Isotopes are nuclides with the same atomic number but different mass numbers. Isotopes are located at the same position (Gr. ισο [iso] – gleich, τόπος [topos] – place) in the periodic table (which is why they possess the same atomic number). Isotopes of an element are distinguished from each other by different numbers of neutrons in the atomic nucleus. Radioactive isotopes are instable and decay under the emission of radiation.

Isotope methods

These are investigation methods applying artificially or using naturally occurring stable and/or radioactive isotopes.
