Closing date for applications:  • Location: Leipzig Student Assistant (f/m/x) in Plant and Soil Interactions
Our aim is to unravel how reductions in water availability can affect the growth and lifespans of fine roots of trees, and the reliability of trees on mycorrhizal symbionts for resource uptake. We are therefore looking for a motivated student assistant (f/m/x) to support us with the establishment of field experiments that will help us measure belowground matter fluxes at the interface between trees and soils.
Closing date for applications:  • Location: Leipzig Scientist (f/m/x)
Closing date for applications:  • Location: Leipzig Phd Researcher (f/m/x) in the field of molecular microbiology
The project is dedicated to the general understanding and exploitation of molecular factors that control primary carbon metabolism in photoautotrophic cyanobacteria. The overarching goal is to make cyanobacterial photosynthesis and the associated metabolism controllable and thus usable for biotechnological purposes, e.g. for a sustainable and CO2-neutral production of chemicals and energy carriers. According to the funding approval, we offer a shared employment at both institutions, with Leipzig as the place of work for the entire duration of the contract.
Closing date for applications:  • Location: Leipzig Master Thesis - Investigation of the impact of ATES systems on local groundwater microbiome
Underground thermal energy storage in aquifers (Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage, ATES) can make an important contribution to seasonal heat management in urban areas. The aim of the master thesis is to investigate the effects of ATES systems on the groundwater microbiome and on the local contamination of the aquifer by means of laboratory microcosm experiments.
