Research interests

Our expertise relates to the mechanistic, quantitative description of the ecology, physiology and physico-chemistry of the microbial transformation of organic contaminants for improved environmental biotechnology.

Specific research activities cover the

  • Ecophysiology and biophysics of contaminant bioavailability at biogeochemical interfaces.
  • Adhesion and subsurface transport of bacteria and its impact on the ecology of contaminant biodegradation.
  • Fungal biotechnology: Ecology-based soil remediation based on the catabolic activation of bacteria by fungi.
