How did you learn about UFZ?
Why did you come to the UFZ?
I decided to come to UFZ because I am interested in environmental research. On the other hand, the project I am working on is a cooperation between different institutions in Germany and Russia with people with different backgrounds, and this interdisciplinarity is making my education richer and more complete.
What do you like about the city you live in?
Leipzig is an absolutely beautiful and cosmopolitan city with low living costs compared with other cities in Europe. It is quite calm, safe and at the same time it offers a lot of cultural opportunities. It is not very big so I can go by bike everywhere, the climate is really nice and the parks and lakes too.
How do you like it at the UFZ / in HIGRADE?
The UFZ is a very well organized institution in every sense. The facilities are very modern and complete, and if we need some new devices or reagents or books they are quickly and easily obtained. Particularly, HIGRADE is really concerned in giving to the PhD students good tools for dealing with our projects and scientific career. The courses offered have a very good level and good trainers.
